Mountain Camping – Why You Should Choose Mountain Hiking Over Backpacking
Mountains of America many times have been denigrated as dull and dangerous. Safety conscious individuals are Soup cans with nails in them, doors rattling with each step. What was once alifetime trek for a young man with an athletic coach has become a once season event for kids.
Since my friend’s daughter turned 11, we have decided to take her and her younger brother on a camping trip. She is going to need a good pack with a minimum of 10 liters capacity. We also decided that since we do not have any tent rollers, that we would sleep in a wide blanket.
I spent the first night in a portable hammock that my friend had brought. The next day we went to the store, bought a coffee maker and a toaster. That evening we had a long talk via Google Wave about life and religion. That night I began to realize that religion was not going to be part of our trip. Having been raised Southern Baptist, it did not leave much room for Gandalf to pop in. หนังมาแรง We were going to be living off cupboards and eating canned foods. We decided to forego the canned foods and make our own meals. That evening we gathered up a few pots and pans, remained with the minimal amount of food, put them in ziplock bags and set rest for the evening.
In the morning we headed a little ways to the dump where we were going to start our day hike. สาวใจแตก My friend dropped us of at the dump before we started out. I started up the trail with a 72 litre tank of water. My friend and I are both in good physical condition so we thought that we could make it up the mountain in about 15 minutes. We walked out of the dump range at a pretty decent pace and in about 15 minutes we arrived at the lookout.
From there we could see about half a dozen sloppy SJW’s (So called “White- socks”) and mountain climbers waddling after us. They appeared to be taking a slightly different direction than we were going, which explained why they were looking so lost. We let them pass us and they would not go any further than that. We assured them that we were going to let them go and they could see the trail to the top of the mountain. ชนโรงซับไทย They were perspiring as they said goodbye and continued waddling after us.
We reached the rocky outcrop we had been told was the top of the mountain. It was a wide field of about 3 miles across so it took a while to decide which way to go. I Saw a Lookout that had a Dentes ( narrow rock outcrop opposite the trail) and what looked like a goat path, but that could have been guess work. This area was also where the sore feet and cheek bones of Aron Ralston, the Utah 4- man reached the top of the mountain. He had to climb over a vertical 30 inch crack ( About 7 feet or 12 inches high) to get to the top.
The mouth of this crack was very narrow as it went straight up to the top of the mountain with a very steep and loose scrambling area. It was closely followed by a narrower crack that looked like it went to the top of the mountain. เซ็กส์ทอย It was not going to be that easy to climb. I quickly changed my mind. We had been on the lookout for an opportunity to camp overnight so we decided to climb up past the Last Chance Mine. As I climbing up I could see snow white snow mountains in every direction. There was no direct path from the Last Chance mine to the top of the Cochrane. Ahead of us was the true summit ridge of the Cochrane which rose to a height of about 57 feet or 170 feet. Nothing spoke of this route. We had to “make” the summit ridge.
bursts of red snow were pouring down the slope as we climbed. We passed behind a swirling mass of white edging into the valleys. Smoke from some of the fires rose above our heads and the wind began to howl at an altitude where the temperature dropped rapidly. Sweating heavily, we made it to the Last Chance mine, parked in a rough area in the road, หนังโป๊ฝรั่ง and decided to turn back, even before we reached the road. We had been on the mountain for over an hour and the outlook was not looking too good.
Rather than taking the windy road to the mine and risk getting stuck in the mud along the way, we decided to turn around and head southeast. The next three hours were spent in somewhatingham snow. We arrived at the road at around 7:00 pm and quickly pulled up into a space ready to unload. We unzipped and climbed into the space. After taking a few minutes to get settled in, we began to hear coyotes howling at us.
